Liceo de Cagayan University President Dr. Mariano M. Lerin, CPA and Vice President for Academics Dr. Teresita T. Tumapon cut the ribbon at the university’s Civic Center, opening the gateway to Panagdait 2011.

Now on its second year, Panagdait (Bisaya for “celebration”) is a scaled-down, school version of Kumbira, the culinary showcase organized during the fiesta season by the Cagayan de Oro Hotel and Restaurant Association (COHARA). Under the aegis of the Hospitality Management and Tourism Departments of the College of Business and Accountancy (CBA), Panagdait is a two-day affair packed with live competitions, showcases, and other thrilling events.

Among these are the following: Floral Buffet Table Centerpiece; Squash and Watermelon Carving; On-the-Spot Bedsetting; Napkin Folding; Sandwich Making-High School Category; Recipe Writing for Chef Wars; Chef Wars; Mini-Cake Decorating; Sandwich Making-College Category, and; Flair Tending.

During his Opening Remarks, Atty. Leo Perez, Dean of CBA, declared that Panagdait showcases that Liceo students “are loaded with talent.
