The University’s pep squad, now known as the Liceo Titans All Stars, emerged as champions in the North Mindanao Qualifiers of the National Cheerleading Championship last December 5, 2010 at the Liceo Civic Center.

Under the aegis of Coach Christopher Carumba, aka “RJ,” the Titans executed a thrilling 2.5-minute routine with heart-stopping daredevil stunts—in all elegance and excellence. The full-house crowd roared with gusto.

The judges were impressed as well, and proceeded to give the Titans a high score of 290 without any penalties or deductions.

“You said you’re a new group and that you’re ‘pang-local’ pa lang. Pang-national yata kayo,” one of the NCC judges told Coach RJ.

The championship earns the group the right to represent North Mindanao in the national finals on March next year.

In the same competition, the pep squad of the High School Department, trained by Coach Edbert Labnotin, clinched third place in the high school division, allowing it the opportunity to go to Manila for the national finals as well.
