XAVIER University nursing student was elected president of the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation in the city over the weekend. Elected federation president was Sunshine Obsioma of Barangay Taglimao. The 19-year old would automatically sit as a member of the city council. Obsioma’s father Ruben is the barangay chairman of Taglimao. The new city councilor took her oath of office yesterday before Mayor Vicente Emano and other city hall officials. Obsioma told reporters she was very thankful to members of the SK for giving her a chance to be their federation leader.
Other SK chairpersons elected as officers of the federation: Alex Simon Dacer of Puntod, executive vice president; April Grace de la Cerna of Barangay 26, Vincent Gadumal and Seeth Lloyd Gandia, vice presidents. Elected as secretary general was Arama Paolo. Althea Bernales was elected treasurer while Baldo Fessa and Raul Ilogon were elected as auditors. The sergeant at arms: Nino Arcilles, Albert Rafols and Pril Dion Carloport.
Those elected to the federation’s board were Christine Dagonoy, Aljanes Yabot, Clint Felicilda, Rommel Dever, Jean Aloda and Ralph Chiong.
Obsioma said she would expand city’s sports program and make sure it would start from the grassroots level.
