Cagayan de Oro is known to be a Kapamilya city, recently Kapuso had its maiden tv broadcast. How about Kapatid? Expect local programming to heat up as Associated Broadcasting Corp. (ABC-5) is reportedly setting up their local TV facilities in Bulua next year.
Mediaquest, the corporate vehicle for media-related investments of the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT) group, owns 100 percent of television network ABC-5 and Primedia Inc., the broadcasting firm’s major block airtimer. PLDT chairman is Manuel Pangilinan.
The proposed site is near the Smart Communications facility along Macapagal Drive, just a stone’s throw from ABS-CBN studio. Pangilinan also owns Smart (see the logic?). Just recently, GMA announced its re-entry into the local news scene with ISYU KARON NORTHERN MINDANAO.
ABC’s biggest acquisition so far is controversial Willie Revillame with its “Willing Willie” Show.
