THE Mindanao Youth Volunteer Corps Inc., in partnership with the United States Embassy in Manila, is holding a four-day activity dubbed “Youth Peace Platform for Mindanao: An Exhibit” on October 7 to 10 at Chali Beach Resort in Cugman, Cagayan de Oro City.
The activity, which will be attended by youths from all over the Philippines, hopes to raise awareness on the real peace situation in Mindanao.
Among the topics to be discussed in the four-day activity are media and peace building, Mindanao situationer, cultural profiling and roots of conflict, the challenges of multiculturalism in globalization, approaches to peace making and conflict transformation, bridging culture and people, and the peace industry.
The participants would also hold a tree planting activity at Malasag in Cugman, a Peace-Tival at the Divisoria area and visits to the museums of Capitol University, Liceo de Cagayan University and Xavier University.
