THE Integrated Bar of the Philippines-Misamis Oriental Chapter (IBP-MISOR) has rendered 207 cases “for free” to less fortunate individuals in various courts in Cagayan de Oro City.
Police-related matters, civil, labor and administrative were among the cases being handled.
Lawyer Samuel Rollo, chairman of the IBP-MISOR legal aid committee, said most of the cases were those that were allegedly ignored by the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO).
The legal aid committee, reinforced by some 50 dedicated lawyers, is co-chaired by lawyer Doreen Delegencia.
Comprising the legal aid committee are lawyers Ramil Acol, Cenon Alaba, Milber Alinas, Odilon Apolinario, Quintilianito Babarin, Noel Bacal, Saturnino Baconga, April Joy Balano, Gil Banaag, John Aldrich Bonete, Romero Boniel, Ernani Bonoan, Fel Lester Brillantes, Zara Teodora Cabanlet, Carlo Magno Calingin, Anna Caroz, Chester Castanos, Alseo Dela Serna, Laurence Edgardo del Puerto, Mylene Durano, Adlai Elizaga, Marc David Evangelista, Alfred Lord Gaccion IV, Emmanuel Gaabucayan, Leon Du Gan, Cancio Nicanor Guibone, Geordina Sumicad-Huerbana, Doris Javier, James Judith, Christina Jugador, Cecilia Layug, Marisse Gay Lico, Raquel Limbaco, Nueva Mabelin, John Mark Marquino, Jocelyn Mateo, Dale Bryan Mordeno, Jofrrey Namalata, Raul Manuel Paayas, Neil Pacana, Chiqui Paghacian, Eliud Pailagao Jr., Palmer Palamine, Mary Therese Quizo, Roy Lago Salcedo, Lito Sanchez, Gerald Sylvan Sabio, Mark Christer Sorillo and Zoilo Antonio Velez.
For the indigent fellows, the IBP-MisOr chair said they can be contacted anytime for free legal assistance.
