Cagayan de Oro is listed as among the top destinations with the highest load factors of Airphil Express, sister company of flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL). This after the budget airline company just had its maiden flight to CDO early this year in April.Jaime J. Bautista, PAL president and board member of Airphil Express, told reporters at the sidelines during the launching of their newest addition to its fleet, a 180-seater Airbus A320 that will cover Manila-Singapore-Manila routes.
Along with Cagayan de Oro, other destinations with the highest load factors are Bacolod, Iloilo, Puerto Princesa, and Davao.
Cesar M. Chiong, executive vice-president and chief operating officer of Air Philippines Corp., told reporters that 17 more Airbus A320 will arrive in the next two-and-a-half years.
“Six out of the 18 aircraft are to be delivered by this year. We will have another six next year and another six for the first quarter of 2012. As of now, nine out of the 18 aircraft are already signed and committed. These nine aircraft are to be leased,” he said.
The budget carrier is also eyeing domestic destinations such as Zamboanga, Legazpi in Albay, Tagbilaran, Baguio, Vigan in Ilocos Sur, and Marinduque.
