The construction of the civil works and buildings of the US$167.09 Million (PhP7.853 Billion) Laguindingan Airport Development Project (LADP) in Laguindingan, Misamis Oriental posted 69.14% accomplishment or about one percent ahead of schedule as of 14 September 2010.
Access road to the airport was completed in January 2010. Land acquisition for the main airport area is 99.24% accomplished with 390.95 hectares already acquired of the 393.94-hectare requirement. DOTC’s payment of the remaining 2.99 hectare is in process and will not affect the implementation of the project.
- Some 372 families have been relocated: 134 families at Phase 1 resettlement site in Barangay San Isidro, Laguindingan and 238 families at Phase 2 resettlement site in Barangay Tubajon, also in Laguindingan.
The US$16.07 million (Php755.24 million) air navigation system and support facilities of the project will be financed by the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) of the Korean Government (US$13.38 million) and the Government of the Philippines (US$2.69 million). Bid documents have been submitted to the DOTC Bids and Award Committee for approval. The Internal Committee of the KEXIM Bank had approved the project on 23 July 2010.
The LADP construction started in January 2008 and is expected to be operational by January 2012. (NEDA/RDC-X CAP-TF)
