Three hundred participants, composed of National Government Agencies, Non-Government Organizations, private sector, academe, local resource institutions, including City and Municipal Mayors in Region 10 are expected to take part in this first-ever Capacity Development Expo (CDExpo) on September 22, 2010 at Grand Caprice, Limketkai Center, Cagayan de Oro City.
CDExpo is organized by the Department of the Interior and Local Government in Region 10, in coordination with the Multi-Stakeholders Advisory Committee (MSAC) members of the Local Governance Resource Center.
Themed “Creating Synergy in Local Governance,” CDExpo will be a venue for information sharing and strengthening linkages for good local governance.
The Regional Capacity Development Agenda will be presented to the various stakeholders in local governance during the activity. As agreed during the MSAC meeting on August 27, service providers from the NGAs, NGOs, private sector and the academe will each be given enough time to present their appropriate respective programs and services that will address the gaps identified in the CapDev Agenda of the LGUs.
DILG Regional Director Loreto T. Bhagwani said the activity hopes to concretize DILG and other government agencies, NGOs and private sector participation for joint efforts at maximizing service delivery with the assistance of civil society organizations and volunteer groups.
Participants will also be showcasing knowledge products during the activity to promote their services.
The activity will start at one in the afternoon. (DILG)
