Northern Mindanao has been assured of lower electricity bills next month, a member of Iligan City council’s committee on energy told journalists here earlier this week.

City council member Moises G. Dalisay Jr. said the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) gave this assurance in a recent public hearing.

In that meeting, NGCP executives cited restored capacity of the Agus and Pulangi hydropower plants amid rains after about six months of dry spell, thus reducing the need for the Mindanao grid to buy electricity from more expensive sources. — JBE (BusinessWorld)
