Lourdes College Social Work Program and Nutrition and Dietetics Course are once again proud for having achieved 100% passing in Social Work and 80% passing in the Nutrition and Dietetics Licensure Examinations given last June and July 2010 respectively.

In the whole city, it is only Lourdes College that is offering these courses. Social Work is just one out of the 6 Programs while Nutrition and Dietetics is under Arts and Sciences in the Higher Education Department of the institution.

The school has produced topnotchers in Social Work since 2001 and both have consistently garnered above national passing rate in the licensure examinations.

In the whole of Mindanao, Lourdes College Social Work Program is one of the only two schools that are PAASCU accredited. Currently, the program is in its Level 2 accreditation while Nutrition and Dietetics course is on its Level 3 status.

The school congratulates the members of the Social Work Faculty: Ms. Asela Querol, Ms. Milfe Resus, Ms. Merje Vallente, Ms. Winnie Amores, Ms. Delia Martinez and Ms. Ivy Urbina and the Nutrition and Dietetics faculty: Ms. Remedios Montaño, Ms. Jepsilina Roa and Ms. Anzanette Cagas for a job well done. Special recognition is also given to the General Education Faculty for contributing to their success.

In its 82 years, Lourdes College has consistently given its dedicated service to Cagayan de Oro City and the nearby provinces in the whole of Northern Mindanao.

Founded by the late Archbishop James Hayes, S.J. in 1928, it started as an elementary school for boys and girls which was then named San Agustin Parochial School. The need for high school Catholic education paved the way for the birth of Lourdes Academy. The academy eventually became Lourdes Junior College as it offered Junior Normal and Home Economics courses and eventually renamed to Lourdes College.

Today, Lourdes College offers programs in elementary, secondary, undergraduate and graduate levels. Its academic offerings include Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Education, Nursing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Accountancy, Business Education and Nutrition and Dietetics.

Its Teacher Education, Arts and Sciences and Business Education Programs received Level III accreditation from PAASCU in 2007. Its grade school and high school received accreditation status from PAASCU since 1979.

Lourdes College has two campuses, one in Macasandig housing the basic education and the main building is along Capistrano-Hayes Sts., accommodating the undergraduate and graduate programs.

A Catholic institution owned by the Religious of the Virgin Mary (RVM) Sisters, Lourdes College looks forward to more years of dedicated service in education through a deliberate and consistent living of FAITH, EXCELLENCE and SERVICE.
