This is just the third part of a series of business, construction and investment rumors in the city. All info in the previous buzz last January 19, 2010 have all been confirmed.
The latest rumor, although it was announced by City Mayor Vicente Emano in his weekly radio program, is that of a Manila-based investor has expressed keen interest to bankroll a first-class hotel in the city. Because the identity of the investor has been kept from the public, it has become a guessing game. As a hint given by Emano, the businessman has a very large business in the city. Can you guess who?
Another rumor mentioned in coffee shops is that the Cagayan de Oro Medical Center Group is planning to construct a new hospital at Paseo del Rio, the mixed use development of Zealep Inc. or the Pelaez Group. Their current 6-storey hospital along Tiano-Nacalaban Streets is always full plus they have problems in parking spaces. The planned project would definitely be a viable one considering that Cagayan de Oro City has been a center for health facilities with patients coming from all over the region and even in other regions like Zamboanga and Caraga. Not only that, the Polymedic and Capitol University group have already expanded with modern hospitals of their own.
Finally, GMA-7 is reportedly launching their own studio by September this year. It currently holds office at Hotel Conchita in Cogon. Per info, more local shows will begin next year. The location of their studio is either in Lapasan or at the new building (almost finished) at the City Proper.
