MUSLIM entrepreneurs in Cagayan de Oro City are expected to invite actor Robin Padilla to be the administering officer in the very first induction of officers of the newly-organized Oro Muslim Chamber of Commerce.
Padilla is now the new Housing Development Commissioner Assistant of Vice President Jejomar Binay.
Earlier, the Oro Muslim Chamber of Commerce elected their officers and board of directors for fiscal year 2010 – 2011 at Pryce Plaza.
An agrupation of traders, halal restaurant owners, market stall holders, contractors and taxi operators were the initial prime movers to bind the association’s work for a fair share of business opportunities in the city and the neighboring municipalities of Misamis Oriental.
Compliance to government regulations particularly on business registration, payment of taxes and obtaining Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) endorsements for pioneering business undertaking for future exports of mariculture products to Muslim countries were discussed.
Elected during the lunch meeting on July 29 was Hadji Naseef Pandita as president; Hadji Faiz Ampatuan, vice-president; Hadji Yasim Polog, treasurer; Hadji Jalil Banto, assistant treasurer; Hadji Musa Dimal, secretary; Dato Victor Mangondatu, auditor; and Kagawad Mamco Salomabao, assistant auditor.
Chairman of the board is Hadji Fatah Dora and Shiek Ali Mamondiong as vice-chairman. Dr. Rashal Panda was also appointed to the board.
Guest speaker during the first meeting is Pryce Plaza Hotel general manager Ped Quiamjot who discussed on the halal industry and its impact to the travel needs of the Brunei-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines – East Asean Growth Area (Bimp-Eaga) countries.
The chamber is planning to invite Robin Padilla, the new for the induction of officers.
