Popular American educator Dr. Kenneth Brown and the top Filipino researcher Dr. Ruben C. Umaly recently delivered lectures at Liceo de Cagayan University the past week under the auspices of the University’s Institute for Excellence in Academic Practice and Internationalization as well as the Research and Publications Office.
A seasoned educator with a wide range of research, professional, and journalistic experiences around the world, Dr. Brown delivered the inaugural lecture under the American and Asean Lecture Series. But his was not just one lecture: his talks included “Brain-based Teaching and Learning for the Faculty,” “Team-building for Student Leaders,” and “Sweet Spot for Teaching for Education Students.”
On the other hand, Dr. Umaly, Vice President for Research, Development and Special Projects at the University of the Cordilleras in Baguio City, spoke on the “Internationalization of Research in Philippine Higher Education.”
Dr. Umaly is also the Secretary General of the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific, as well as Director of the AUAP Center for Life-long Professional Education and Languages at the Siam University in Bangkok, Thailand.
The lectures were held at the AVR-3. The series is a top priority of Dr. Mariano M. Lerin, CPA, University President.
