The City Government will strongly lobby for the release of the Spanish Grant for the construction of the 250-lineal meter JR Borja Bridge across Cagayan de Oro River, linking JR. Borja Street and Barangay Carmen on the opposite side.
In his weekly radio program yesterday, city Mayor Vicente “Dongkoy” Emano said he will exhaust ways and means to make the proposed J.R. Borja-Carmen Bridge Project become a reality.
The proposed bridge project is expected to ease the flow of traffic of vehicles coming to and from the eastern side of Cagayan de Oro, thus reducing the number of vehicles passing through Gov. Ysalina Bridge (Carmen Bridge).
The construction of the J.R. Borja Bridge is one of the five bridges in Northern Mindanao that will be funded under the Spanish Grant.
In 2008, the Spanish government thru Engr. Pablo Garcia shown below visited then City Mayor Jaraula as to the design design of the bridge which will coincide with the Golden Mile project.
