THE Social Communication Apostolate of the Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro invites all faithful to join in the mass for World Communications Day at 6:30 a.m. early this morning, July 13, at the St. Augustine Metropolitan Cathedral.

For World Communications Day 2010, Pope Benedict XVI urges priests to “make astute use of the unique possibilities offered by modern communications,” – that is, the Internet and the new media.

Furthermore, it must also be noted that the Holy Father extends this exhortation to the Catholic laity as Internet age innovations allows those well-versed in them to bring truth and the Good News to more people than would be possible by traditional means alone.

“May the Lord make all of you enthusiastic heralds of the Gospel in the new agora which the current media are opening up,” the Holy Father concluded.
