ENTREPRENEURS from Mindanao provinces will now have a chance to conduct their business in a more professional manner.
This, after the Department of Trade and Industry in Region10, in cooperation with the Regional Micro, Small & Medium Enterprise Development Council (RMSMED), will develop a training module for entrepreneurs.
Once operational, the training will be open to any individual owners of micro, small and medium enterprises in Mindanao, provided they are classified as such by DTI.
In an interview, RMSMED chair Ruben Vegafria said he is grateful to the administration of the government-owned Mindanao University of Science and Technology for providing the venue of the training.
Vegafria also said that instructors will come from DTI as well as from Oro Chamber.
He is estimating that the first batch of enrollees will start their training by next year.
Content of the training module is still being inputted in coordination with other RMSMED councils in Mindanao such as those coming from Regions 9 to 13.
Some of the features in the training module include teaching small scale entrepreneurs how to have access to financing, how to maximize their markets, how to be more productive and efficient, and how to have an enabling environment for investment.
This, as SME stakeholders in Mindanao wound up a convocation last Tuesday to voice out their inputs on the national MSME development plan.
Similar fora were held in Luzon and Visayas. The inputs of the participants will be collated and will be filed as recommendations for the National MSME Development Plan 2011-2016.
