The Misamis Oriental-1 (Moresco-1) rural electric service cooperative has added feathers to its cap as it emerged champion in an open public lineman’s rodeo competition conducted by the Institute of Electrical Engineers (IEE) during its Northern Mindanao Regional Conference held last June 24-26 at Limketkai Center in Cagayan de Oro City.
Moresco-1 displays its competency and readiness that in the four areas of competition namely: knot tying, pole climbing, conductor riding, and pole dressing, the said power utility emerged as the consistent first place winner.
Although all the participants of the competition displayed their skills in finishing the job. only those who displayed better strategy and superior leadership had the advantage to win the competition.
This factor has been observed during the pole-dressing competition where competitors displayed various approaches in doing the job.
Going to the special award, Noel Bangcuyo of Moresco-1 was judged as rodeo king.
Bangcuyo said that it’s his third time in a similar competition and such honor is attributed to the support of the management making them ready for the competition.
Engineer Cesar Sanchez, (IIEE) regional governor for Northern Mindanao said that the event is the first time being showcased to the public so they will know that such a profession is existing.
The host chapter headed by Engineer Rey Paduganan also said that this gathering would make electrical engineers update their profession by knowing some innovations introduced in its field.
He then disclosed that electrical exhibitors were also present showcasing their products to give them concrete idea of the trend.
