Balingasag’s 195-hectare Mariculture Park is slowly contributing to the region’s fish production. Established in 2007 by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), the park allocates areas for aquaculture, mangroves, sea ranching, sea sanctuary and a navigation lane. Balingasag has since developed the Lambangus Harvest Festival, a tribute to the harvest of bangus, now considered the town’s ONE TOWN, ONE PRODUCT (OTOP). The 4,000 square meter fish processing plant in narby Barangay waterfall is also nearing completion. As proof of its growth, Balingasag is now exporting bangus to the United States.
