DPWH Secretary Victor A. Domingo recently inspected various major infrastructure projects in the city including the Cagayan de Oro International Convention Center, the 3rd Bridge Access Road, 5th Bridge River Protection Works, and the Coastal Superhighway.

Photo above shows Sec. Domingo at the Cagayan de Oro International Convention Center site at Taguanao, Cagayan de Oro City. With the total cost of P758,035,998.12, the said project has a total release of P349,810,944.20. Presently, it still needs additional P420,054,409.52 to complete the entire project. The project has a 100% accomplishment based on the total funding released

Shown above is Sec. Domingo inspecting the ongoing construction of new Iponan Bridge as part of the Cagayan de Oro Third Bridge Access Road Project which also includes widening of Kauswagan-Bonbon-Bayabas Intersections and Access Road (Bayabas Section – West Bound Terminal – Iponan Bridge III. This part of the project has an appropriation of P400,000,000.00 under contract with Equi-Parco Construction Co. It has a contract amount of P269,873,251.23 with a contract time of 360 calendar days. The work started last January 16, 2009 and will be finished on June 30, 2010. Presently, it has 98.74% accomplishment.

Photo above shows DPWH Sec. Domingo inspection of the proposed coastal road from Puntod-Lapasan-Gusa-JR Borja to (Iligan-Cagayan-Butuan Road) ICBR  intersection that includes embankment, base preparation, road concreting, construction of Reinforced Concrete Box Culvert (RCBC) and reclamation. This project’s phase has an appropriation of P360,000,000.00 under contract with Equi-Parco Construction Co. with contract amount of P334,115,810.57, it has 360 calendar days to finish. It is expected to be finished on March 25, 2011. As of press time, this phase has an actual accomplishment of 8.72%.

DPWH Sec. Domingo also visited the River Protection Works Structure of Kagay-an Bridge at the Paseo del Rio Site as shown below. The project that started last March 30, 2010 is under the implementation of the Regional Office under contract with Equi-Parco Construction Co. The work focuses on the construction of 135 LM revetment with reinforced concrete and grouted Riprap facing and steel sheet piles revetment toe protection for settlement and erosion. The project has an appropriation of P50 Million with contract amount of P48,123,769.71 on 180 calendar days to finish. As of press time, it has an actual accomplishment of 17.37%

After having actual inspection of some of the ongoing projects, Sec. Domingo then visited the Regional Office and had a brief meeting with all the key officials of the office headed by RD Jerome M. dela Rosa. He had also the chance to see the ongoing works of the ongoing Repair/Rehab of DPWH Quarters located inside the Regional Office compound.
