In an effort to avert future power crisis, construction of P116 million worth of three power sub-stations are set to rise in Misamis Oriental and Cagayan de Oro City, it was learned Wednesday.
The documentation and on-site preparation is already going on for the immediate construction of the power sub-stations.
Misamis Oriental-1 Rural Electric Service Cooperative (Moresco-1) already signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) last week with the National Electrification Administration (NEA) for a multi-million-peso loan to bankroll its projected construction of three power sub-stations.
The signatories of the MoA were Engr. Julie B. Real, Bernard Benavidez, Moresco-1 board president and NEA administrator Edith Bueno.
“This is a good signal and big boost to our continuing and progressing economy in the province, city and Northern Mindanao region,” said Misamis Oriental Gov. Oscar Moreno.
Areas seen to benefit from this loan project are Barangay Moog of Laguindingan town, Misamis Oriental, El Salvador City and Barangay Canitoan of Cagayan de Oro City.
Barangay Moog power sub-station is near the site of the ongoing ground works of the multi-billion Laguindingan Inernational Airport.
Engr. Julie B. Real, Moresco-1general manager, said the loan will be used for the construction of the much-needed 10 MVA power sub-stations.
