FOUR new judges have been named for the Regional Trial Court branches in Northern Mindanao, namely Bonifacio Macabaya, Dennis Alcantar, Arthur Abudiente and Corazon Gaite-Llanderal.

Macabaya, a native of Camiguin, was with the Pasay City prosecutor’s office and later with the Public Attorneys Office prior to his appointment now to Branch 20. He is inheriting 160 civil and criminal cases, which include land titling and special proceedings, from his predecessor.

Alcantar was judge of the Initao RTC in Misamis Oriental. He takes over Branch 18 vacated by Judge Edgardo Lloren who has been appointed an associate justice to the Court of Appeals.

Abudiente is assuming Branch 25 vacated by the late Judge Noli Catli.

Llanderal is taking the position of Judge Epifanio Nacaya who retired earlier from Branch 40. She was the city prosecutor of El Salvador when this Misamis Oriental town was changed to a city.
