Chairman Jose A.R. Melo of the Commission of Elections (Comelec) is expected in the city on April 6, 2010, to attend the Joint Regional Command Conference to be held at Pryce Hotel.
With Chairman Melo are Police Director Jaime E. Milla, Directorate for Integrated Police Operations (DIPO) in Easter Mindanao, Lt. Gen. Raymundo B. Ferrer, Commanding General of the Eastern Mindanao Command, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and Commissioner Gregorio Y. Larrazabal of the Comelec.
The activity will be participated in by all Provincial and City Treasurers of the Bureau of Local Government
nce (BLGF), Provincial and City Directors, Philippine National Police (PNP), Provincial and City Schools Division Superintendents, Dept. of Education (DepEd) and Provincial Election Supervisors and City Election Officers of the Comelec in region 10.
Also expected to attend are members of the Regional Joint Security Control Center (RJSCC), namely: P/Chief Danilo T. Empedrad, Regional Director of PNP-10 and other high-ranking AFP officers in the region.
Meanwhile, Atty. Renato A. Magbutay, Regional Elections Director for Region 10, who is the Chairman of RJSCC-10, said the topics of the conference will include the profile of activities undertaken by Comelec-10 and updates by the deputized agencies/organizations, particularly, the PNP, AFP and the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV).
Likewise, the deployment of the Precinct Counting Optical Scanning (PCOS) Machines by Smartmatic-TIM will be discussed by representatives of Argo Forwarders which the Comelec has contracted to dispatch the PCOS.
The Integrated Regional Security Plan will also be presented during the conference, Magbutay added. (PIA 10)
