PSSUPT. BENEDICTO R. LOPEZ

CAGAYAN de Oro City Police Office (Cocpo) will soon acquire two patrol cars and modern equipment in preparation for the May 10 elections.

Senior Superintendent Benedicto Lopez, Cocpo chief, said the Philippine National Police (PNP) through Director Jesus Versoza allocated P500,000 to the local police force for the purchase of these office and communication equipment.

Lopez said the budget is intended to put up a transmitter for communication worth P44,000, a base radio worth P210,000, and to purchase at least 11 fax machines worth P65,000, including handheld radios.

“I also envisioned to put up a new police station for Cocpo and hopefully, modern equipment for the police,” Lopez said.

With the new equipment, especially the two patrol cars for Cocpo, Lopez emphasized that this would be in one way or the other help policemen do their tasks during the election.

Representative Rufus Rodriguez also pledged an additional P500,000 for Cocpo as his counterpart fund.
