Physicists, college and high school physics teachers, as well as research and development personnel in industry, are expected to participate in the 32nd Annual National Physics Seminar/Workshop-Convention with the theme “Physics and Climate Change” to be held on April 7-10, 2010 at Xavier University, Cagayan de Oro City. The seminar/workshop-convention incorporates the 23rd National Physics Olympics and the 18th National Physics Fair.

The seminar-convention will feature lectures, workshops, short courses, equipment construction and utilization, exhibits, and an educational field trip. Physics teachers, physicists, and industry practitioners are invited to contribute research papers, lectures, workshops, or demonstrations or to share their classroom/industry experience.

The Physics Olympics will involve the application of physics principles and use of creativity in activities/contests like paper tower, egg drop, egg transport, large barge, super magnet, Bamboo Bridge, master robot and paper airplane. The Physics Fair will present investigatory physics projects by students and teachers in all levels. No monetary prizes are involved; however, Certificates of Merit will be awarded to deserving entries. The physics fair also welcomes exhibits of instructional materials (equipment, modules, etc.), pictorials, and posters.

The registration fee is P1500. This covers seminar kit, certificates, snacks, membership fee, Philippine Physics Journal, one dinner, and an educational field trip.
