Shown above are the figures from Department of Tourism showing Cagayan de Oro with 359,867 tourists for the year 2009, up by 10.44% from 2008. Good job by the local tourism officials for actively promoting tourism, more particularly eco-tourism.

This has to be one of the reasons why hotels and other accommodation facilities are sprouting all over the city. Plus, more and more tourism sites in the city and neighboring areas are being developed and promoted including Dahilayan Adventure Park in Manolo Fortich, Lasang Treetops and Boardwalk in Initao, Misamis Oriental, Mapawa Nature Park in Cugman, among others.
