Ayala Land Inc. (ALI) will soon make its presence in Cagayan de Oro more felt by Cagayanons with more projects. Based on the Analysts’ Briefing Presentation by Mr. Jaime E. Ysmael, ALI’s Senior Vice President and Chief Finance Officer last November 12, 2009, Ayala will construct a Community Center, a Business Processing Outsource (BPO) Facility and another Residential Subdivision of the Avida Brand.
The Community Center puzzles me because by the word “community”, it has to be adjacent to a community, just like SM City in Pueblo de Oro. Thus, it must be located in Indahag or Upper Camaman-an, where ALI’s Alegria Hills is located. Now, news that has been circulating in the city refers to Ayala’s joint venture with the Floirendo Family at the prime property fronting Gaisano Mall which according to Vice Mayor Vicente Emano in his weekly radio program, was formally signed last November 23 in Manila with implementation targeted in the first quarter of 2010. So this really puzzles me until ALI makes a press release as to the location of this so-called “Community Center”. Community Center or Malls by Ayala include Metro Point Mall in Manila and Pavillion Mall in Biñan, Laguna. Or maybe, “Community Center” is just a name.
Regarding the BPO, I assume this has to be located at the Floirendo lot because Upper Camaman-an seems to be not suitable for such project. But still I hope it materializes wherever it may located.
Now the third project is another residential subdivision of the Avida Brand. ALI’s first venture in Mindanao, Alegria Hills is an Ayala Land Premier brand. Perhaps this new project will still be located in the vicinity of Indahag and Upper Camaman-an where ALI has reportedly acquired more than 300 hectares already.
Avida Land Corp. was formerly known as Laguna Properties Holdings, Inc. before the name was changed in 2006. Shorts for “Ave” or “celebrate” and “vida” which means “life”, this new name is more in tune with Ayala Land’s commitment to transform the lives of the hardworking middle class.
From their website:
“By offering thoughtfully planned, secure, and easily accessible communities at affordable prices, Avida indeed provides homeowners occasions to celebrate life.
The brand promise of Avida stems from the brand promise of the parent company, Ayala Land, which is “Enhancing Land, Enriching Lives.”
Avida focuses on enriching the lives of the hardworking middle class by offering their families a home to be proud of one that is nestled in a peaceful and safe community, accessible to public transportation, beautifully and practically designed, and one that will prove reliable performance over time.
Thus, Affordable living at its best.
The last phrase states “affordable living” so, unit prices of this new subdivision must be lower than Alegria.
