About a hundred priests and lay leaders from the eight dioceses of the Iglesia Filipina Independiente (IFI) are currently in Cagayan de Oro for the 2009 Mindanao Plenary Assembly slated November 12-14.
The theme for this year’s assembly is “Sharing our Stewardship/Centralization Stories,” said Bishop Felixberto Calang of the Dicoese of Misamis Oriental, Bukidnon and Camiguin.
The assembly, which will be held at the Diocesan Center for Education and Nurture DCENT Center) in Barangay Bulua, is part of the programs this year of the Mindanao Bishops Conference (MinBisCon), he said.
A press statement quoted Calang as saying that they expect during the assembly “to bring our concrete stories of pains and joys, failures and successes, and dreams and aspirations, as we collaborate with each other in doing our task for God and Country.”
The Mindanao bishops who are expected to attend are Calang (Misamis Oriental, Bukidnon and Camiguin); Delfin Callao Jr. (Southeastern Mindanao and Koronadal); Rudy Jullada (Libertad); Rhee Timbang (Surigao and Western Mindanao); and Denny Dapitan (Agusans-Surigao del Sur and Pagadian).
