The long-delayed 3rd bridge access road or the new western highway can now be seen by the public as significant progress of construction has been noted lately. The above photo is at the Igpit Section near the proposed intersection of the National Highway.
Progress was very positive as the new highway, although still in the initial earthfilling stage, can now be observed. The Igpit-Barra section shown below can accommodate six lanes.
You can see new junction at the National Highway in the photo below.

This photo below is the junction at the barangay road of Bulua. You turn right to go to the National Highway. Just straight ahead is the Bulua Bus Terminal. However, civil works have not reached Bulua Terminal yet as they will have to demolish a building at the Montecarlo Fish Landing Complex which stands in the way.
Billboards at the same junction. The winning contractor is from Butuan City.
You can see the two cranes working on the bridge straight ahead.
Below is the section at the Bulua Bus Terminal which connects to the new highway.
The new road below being developed near the Bulua Terminal Complex leads to Barangay Bayabas where initial site clearing and landfilling activities have also already been conducted.
The completion of this project will decongest the national highway (ICBR). Moreso, the planned railway will have to take this route.
