The DPWH has started the second Bulua-Iponan Bridge, which is a section of the Access Road of the Cagayan de Oro 3rd Bridge (Kauswagan-Puntod) Project. Concrete piles have been driven to the riverbed as shown in the photo above taken from Barra, Opol side of the river.
The right-of-way of the bridge has been cleared on both approaches so I expect the project to be fast-tracked soon depending on the availability of funds from the national government. The project has been delayed due to funding requirements. As you know, contractors can cease their construction works if the DPWH cannot pay their billing.
Nevertheless, I am glad that this infrastructure project has finally taken off. The approaches of the bridge from both sides are very wide. I think it would be a six-lane highway (see separate post).
