Pueblo de Oro’s 360-hectare township in Cagayan de Oro City is a masterplanned project which started development in 1995. It is a mixed use development with commercial areas along Masterson Avenue specifically the so-called Masterson Mile. A perspective of the the Masterson Mile is currently on exhibit at ORO BEST EXPO 2009 at the Limketkai Atrium.
It is designed to host restaurants, boutiques and other shops which cater to the economic level of the township and the travellers plying Masterson Avenue. Presently, the Pueblo de Oro office, Pan de Pugon, and the HP Office, including the Plaza de los Heroes are within the mile-long commercial strip. Another building is said to rise beside the HP Office.
At the back of the IT Park is Regatta Square. It is more like a commercial center within the subdivision with shops, restaurants and clinics. I think this development will take longer than the Masterson Mile.
Louis Berger International, Inc. (LBII), a renowned expert in regional and urban planning with projects worldwide, did the master plan of the tonwship. In the Philippines, LBII is noted to have prepared the master plans for, among others, the Cagayan de Oro-Iligan Corridor and the SOCSARGEN growth area, enabling it to accumulate substantial expertise in the region.
