Defending National Champion Misamis Oriental Meteors mastered the EKB-Apayao Rapids to secure Third Place, 85-70.  Trailing by three points, 46-49, the Meteors of Gov. Oscar Moreno and Coach Jun Noel used a 14-2 run to end the third period to hold the lead for good, 60-51.  The lead then grew to as much as 17 markers late in the final period, 81-64.

Lyndon Gudez had 28 points and Patrick Cabahug added 23 for the Meteors.  Leimar Navarro paced the Rapids of Gov. Elias K. Bulut and Coach Edmar Pascua with 15 followed by Gerold Canson with 14.

During the leg, the Meteors lost to Quezon 93-102 and Cebu 72-73 and beat Apayao, 90-66.

Earlier, the M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala Cebu Niños won the Quezon Leg of the Smart Liga Pilipinas Conference 3 with a masterful 67-62 win against host Quezon Red Oilers. The Cebu-based squad remained unbeaten to garner 45 points. Mark Ababon was honored as the leg MVP.
