The Press Freedom Monument located at the southwest corner of Vicente de Lara Park is almost finished. Renowned Filipino Sculptor Eduardo Castrillo has completed the bronze figures for the monument dedicated to the members of the media who died while performing their work. The monument is scheduled to be unveiled on August 21, 2009, to coincide with the Assassination of Sen. Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino.
Workers are seen installing the bronze figures made by Castrillo in the photo below by Ed Montalvan.
After this, Ed Castrillo will then start the Heritage Monument to replace the obelisk right at the center of the park.
As earlier presented by Castrillo, he is targetting the Tableau to be completed by January 2010. There were issues before on the characters of the tableau which Castrillo acknowledged so he can make alterations on the design.
