Dr. Joyce M. Black, a famous author of text books for nursing undergraduate students, will hold a 1-day seminar workshop on July 24, 2009 at the Atrium of Limketkai Mall in Cagayan de Oro City. The affair starts at 9:00 am. The event is an exclusive continuing education seminar entitled “Client Safety, Security & Privacy, Requirements in Medical Surgical Nursing Practice”. Tickets are available at the 2nd Level West Concourse, Limketkai Mall. The event is expected to gather all nursing students in Cagayan de Oro City and nearby areas.
Dr. Black is an Associate Professor at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, College of Nursing in Omaha, Nebraska. She is also the past President of the National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel and was the chairman of the national task force on the staging of pressure ulcers, including deep tissue injury. Dr. Black conducts research on pressure ulcers. Her current studies include pressure ulcer risk factors in nursing home residents, deep tissue injury and intertriginous dermatitis. She has lectured often on the topic of pressure ulcers and writes extensively as well. Dr. Black is the lead editor of Medical Surgical Nursing, a textbook for undergraduate nursing students.
