Zest Air, Asia’s Most Refreshing Airline will soon service the Cebu to Cagayan de Oro route and vice-versa with its inaugural flight on July 23, 2009.
The inaugural flight leaves cebu at 1:00pm and arrives in CDO at 1:50pm. The first flight from CDO to Cebu will be at 2:10pm. Fight schedules will be Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Ambassador Alfredo M. Yao, the president and CEO of Zest Air, is also the chairman of Zesto Corporation, the makers of Zesto fruit juices and drinks. It was in March 26, 2008 when Yao’s AMY Holdings Corporation acquired 99.6 percent of Asian Spirit Inc. The new owners then infused capital, initiated re-fleeting, altered the management style of the company and changed the brand name of Asian Spirit Inc. to Zest Airways, Inc. Zest Air officially started its flights in October 2008.
If Zest-O is the refreshing drink, Zest Air is now called as the refreshing airlines. Funny it sounds, a free Zest-O drink if you fly with Zest Air.
For its Cebu-CDO route, Zest Air will use the MA60 aircraft. The MA60 is an advanced 50-60 seat class regional turboprop aircraft developed by Xi’an Aircraft Company of China aviation Industry Corporation I (AVICI). Characterized by remarkable passenger comfort, operational adaptability and low operating cost the MA60 is suitable for frequent short and medium-haul commuter operations as well as multi-role applications. The MA60 can meet the increasingly demanding needs of modern transport and offer operators with the greatest operating benefits.
The entry of Zest Air will provide Kagayanons a wider range of airlines to choose from for their travels. With the Laguindingan Airport to open in a few years, expect more air routes to be introduced with a larger airport to service the people of Northern Mindanao.
