Commercial developments in Uptown Cagayan de Oro are now coming in fast. For nearly a decade, the only non-commercial landmarks are SM City, Concentrix, Xavier University High School and Xavier Square.
Uptown CDO is relatively a residential suburb of the city. The past 3 years saw rapid expansion in residential development in the area: Vista Verde (Pueblo de Oro), Golden Glow North (Pueblo de Oro), Bellevue Subd. (Johndorf Ventures), among others.
On-going construction now are Fresno Parkview of Robinsons Land Corp., The Courtyards and Forest View Homes of Pueblo de Oro, and Xavierville Homes of A Brown Co., Inc.
The past year also saw the opening of Stonestowne Suites along Masterson Avenue. In the same building are Alfon’s Grill and Elorde Gym.
With on-going expansion and concreting of Airport Road (Masterson Avenue), a lot of business opportunities are being opened for locators.
Right in front of Concentrix will rise Twin Eco-Towers, a 10-storey condominium project of Italpinas and considered to be the first Green Condo Project Mindanao.
The business park of Xavier Estates has been converted into a residential area. A 3-storey condo will soon rise along Masterson Avenue, more specically Block 62, Lot 2 seen below.
Koresco Develoment Corp. has also constructed Korescoville-2, the 2nd condo project at the back of Hotel Koresco.
A corporate office of a big company will also rise near Xavier Estates Phase 4. More buildings will also built along Airport Road.
With these developments, Uptown CDO may well be what planners have perceived in the future.
