The Philippine-American Educational Foundation Board (Fulbright) has selected Mr. Ridwan N. Landasan, a second year International Studies student of Xavier University in Cagayan de Oro, as principal candidate for 2009 Global Undergraduate Exchange Program Awards in the United States. He is one of the ten (10) successful nominees from the Philippines from the original pool of forty (45) applicants.

He will be in the United States for one academic year starting Fall 2009. A Washington, D.C. based organization will take care of placing him in a university.

The Global Undergraduate Exchange Program is funded by the US State Department and administered by the Philippine-American Educational Foundation (PAEF). This program is designed to provide a large and diverse group of student leaders with in-depth exposure to US society, culture, and academic institutions by engaging substantive academic exchanges at colleges and universities in the United States. He will be a full-time in undergraduate course work chosen from US host institutions” existing curriculum to allow for ample opportunity for on-going interaction with US faculty and student peers, and for exposure to US academic and classroom culture.
