Figaro Coffee Systems, Inc. a wholly locally established chain of coffee shops formed in 1993 by a group of seven friends “who drink a lot of coffee”, just opened its first branch in the city at Rosario Arcade, Limketkai Center.

Figaro coffee shops are one of the best well known coffee shops in the Philippines rivaled only by Starbucks.

Aside from their great coffee and pastry products, what makes Figaro tick is their concern and support for the local coffee industry by helping local farmers through their Figaro foundation.

Conceptualized as a place where Filipinos can hang out and enjoy good coffee and conversation, Figaro outlets serve the finest native barako coffee.

Ninety-five (95) percent of the coffee served at Figaro is made up of high quality local brands.

Flavored beans are what make Figaro a standout among coffee lovers. The company “cures” its flavors right into the beans instead of the usual practice of most restaurants whereby they add syrup to the brew. Curing the beans eliminates the added calories, chemicals and alcohol. It also allows customers to buy packages of the flavored beans to enjoy at home.

Figaro uses only handpicked Philippine Arabica from the best coffee farms in the country, offering at least 12 flavors of coffee at any one time.

As Figaro’s popularity grew, people started inquiring about franchises. Franchise development started as early as 1996 — one year after inquiries started pouring in. Figaro hired GMB Franchise Developers to create its system, standardizing everything from manuals to equipment and recipes.
